Zimbabwe to Host Pakistan 'A' in Cricket WC Qualifier

HARARE: Pakistan 'A' team will tour Zimbabwe for a 1-day series that will be significant  to the hosts' preparations for the Cricket World Cup Qualifier also on home soil.

Zimbabwe will play Pakistan A team in six one-day matches at the Harare Sports Club to hone their skills in preparation for the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2023. In October and November of this year, India will host the 50-over World Cup.

Two seats at the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 are up for grabs at the later tournament, therefore the hosts will undoubtedly be keeping an eye on the Cricket World Cup Qualifier throughout the one-day matches.

the first one-day match between Pakistan and Zimbabwe The first match is planned for May 17 at Takashinga Cricket Club, and the subsequent games are slated for May 19, 21, 23, 25, and 27 at Harare Sports Club.
The Cricket World Cup Qualifier will take place in Zimbabwe from June 18 to July 9, with games taking place at four different locations in Harare and Bulawayo.

Ten countries will compete for the two remaining spots at the Cricket World Cup later this year in India.

Alongside Zimbabwe at the Cricket World Cup Qualifier are Nepal, Netherlands, Oman, Scotland, Sri Lanka, USA, UAE, West Indies, and either Ireland or South Africa.

Along with the host nation India, Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, and New Zealand have already qualified for the Cricket World Cup. Ireland must defeat Bangladesh in all three games of their three-match ODI series in May to go to the championship game ahead of South Africa.

Two four-day matches against each of their respective 'A' teams are scheduled for May 3-6 in Kwekwe and May 10–13 in Mutare as the first events of the Pakistan 'A' team's trip of Zimbabwe.
