Jammu: today,Mehbooba Mufti, the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, launched the “Scooty for college girls scheme”. Mufti took a ride on a scooty, as a part of launch function in a bid to popularize its use. CM allotted 150 scooties each to two colleges for women – Women’s College Parade and Women’s College Gandhi Nagar.

312 applications were received from Women’s College Gandhi Nagar but only 150 were selected under this scheme.

Only, those having the annual family income of 65 % and Rs. 4 lakh respectively took out the benefits of this scheme. The eligibility criteria for a Scooty were also based on minimum percentage.
