Harish Rawat announced to provide free geometry box and Sanitary napkin to students

Uttarakhand cabinet, today the decision was taken by Chief Minister Harish Rawat, who decided to give geometry box to all the students from class 3rd to 8th and sanitary napkins to all the girl students in govt. and govt-aided schools.

Shatrughan Singh, the Chief Secretary said, “6.25 lakh students from government and government-aided schools would be benefited from the decision.It will cost exchequer Rs 3.25 crore annually”

He on adding said that, “Free napkins to girls would cost Rs 15 crore annually”

The Cabinet also decided to donate half of the premium in PM Crop Insurance Scheme, that will cost Rs 4 crore annually to the exchequer. Meanwhile , it will be for rain-dependent crops.

State government will also give Rs 300 per quintal to farmers as bonus for diverse ton crops like mandua, ramdana etc.
