Chennai: Tamil Nadu Scholar and poet Prabhakara Babu is recently rewarded with 'Tamizh Nidhi' award, in an event of Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan in Mylapore, Chennai. The award was given by Kamban Kazhagam.
Prabhakara is a resident of Perambur, he had recasted 26 Tamil literature specifically Sangam literature. Babu has written 34 books, and tagged as an only man to recast 'Thirukkural'.
Prabhakar Babu, after getting award said, "This year I have been fortunate to receive this award, Tamil literature is a huge ocean and 'Thirukkural' is a big sea. My aim is to make Thirukkural easily accessible to the present generation I will continue my journey in literature till my last breath."
