Haryana Farmers angry after baton charge, announce nationwide strike

New Delhi: On the one hand, the centre government is going to pass three important ordinances on farmers in the monsoon session beginning today.  On the other hand, there is growing resentment among the farmers. After the Pipli incident in Haryana Farmers' organizations met in Sirsa today.

National Farmers' Organization chief Jasbir Singh Bhati and farmer leader Prahlad Singh said the way the government has baton charge on farmers at the Pipli rally is condemnable. Farmers' organizations are continuously opposing and agitating against the ordinances imposed on farmers. They demand that a law be enacted for minimum support prices as well.

The farmer leaders said that they will strike the entire country on September 20 over their demands. Earlier, a strike will be held across the country from September 15 to 19. After the meeting, the farmer leaders have come together on these issues of farmers and have the support of the factoring and traders across the country. It has also been said that even after all, If the government has ignored the demands of the farmers, there will be a more massive agitation on September 27.
