Aizawl: The Mizoram government has announced a partial lockdown for one week in Aizawl municipal area in view of an increase in corona cases in the state. In a government order issued by Chief Secretary Lalnumavia Chuango, it has been said that the partial lockdown will start from midnight Thursday and will continue till September 17. In Aizawl Nagar area, it is considered necessary to impose a temporary ban on the movement of persons in public places. On Thursday, 141 new corona follows the detection of cases. This number of corona patients is the highest ever reported in a single day. Of the 141 new cases, more than 90 are reportedly local transmission cases. It has been said in the order of the government that the local transmission rate is a subject of serious concern for the state government. According to the order, the residents of Aizawl are not allowed to leave their residence or premises except those left during the partial lockdown. The order banned outgoing and incoming movement during the lockdown period or in the Aizawel municipal area, which prohibited medical emergencies, emergencies related to the death of relatives and flights entering or leaving the state. It has been said in the order that it is a permission to open shops dealing with essential commodities by five o'clock in the evening, which is made by the District Deputy Commissioner and the local level task forces and will be the permission to import essential items from other areas.
