Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia's younger sister and former MLA Sushma Singh passes away

Bhopal: Sushma Singh, the younger sister of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) founder Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia, passed away late Monday night. She was 87 years old and had been battling cancer for a long time, which led to her saying goodbye to the world late Monday night. Today, his last visit was taken out of his Maharana Pratap Nagar residence, which was attended by the people of the city as well as several veteran BJP leaders.

On his death, former Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje Scindia, BJP MLA Yashodhara Raje Scindia and Usha Raje Scindia have expressed condolences over the phone. It may be mentioned that Sushma Singh Rajmata came to the state at the behest of Vijayaraje Scindia and contested the assembly elections in 1977 from Karera seat in Shivpuri district on the Janata Party ticket and won by 12 thousand votes, when women were reluctant to come to the state. At that time, she had entered  the political arena.

Most notably, he had never been in active politics but never longed for office and familyism, he never pressured his sons to bring them to power. She has also served as the state vice-president in the Janata Party, MLA from Karera, principal of AMI Infant Temple. He is also famous as a musician and academician.
