Mumbai: The Mumbai Police has seized 10 tolas of gold from a garbage dump from The Dindoshi area of Maharashtra. This bag of jewelry was mistaking it as dry pav and the beggar threw it in the garbage. A rat was moving around with this bag of gold, which was captured on CCTV. With the help of CCTV, the police recovered a bag containing gold ornaments from the garbage dump near the rat.
Subsequently, the police handed over the bag to the woman. Its price is about Rs 5 lakh. The incident came to light when a woman named Sundari, a resident of Aarey Colony area in the limits of Dindoshi police station, was going to mortgage 10 tolas of gold jewellery kept in the house in the bank to clear her daughter's wedding loan. On the way, Sundari saw a beggar woman and her child. Sundari gave some of the vadapaw she had kept in the bag with her and gave it to the child and left. When Sundari reached the bank, she came to know that the vadapava bag, which she had given to the child, had also kept gold ornaments in it. Sundari immediately left the bank and went to that spot.
He didn't find the beggar here. Thereafter, he immediately reported it to the police. Suraj Raut, head of the detection team of Dindoshi police, immediately started investigating the case. When officer Suraj Raut scanned the CCTV footage on the spot, the beggar woman was seen leaving. When the police contacted the woman, she said that as Vadapav was dry, she threw it with a bag in the garbage dump. The police started searching for the bag in the garbage dump but it was not found there. When the police examined the CCTV footage, it was found that the garbage bag that the police are searching for is in the possession of a rat. The same rat entered the pouch and was eating the vadapava kept in it and moving around. The police chased the rat, by which time the rat took the bag and entered the nearby drain. The police entered the drain and pulled out the pouch, in which gold ornaments were found lying. The police returned the gold bag to Sundari.
