In Kanker, Chhattisgarh, India, the police have arrested the eleventh aide associated with the urban network of Naxalites. Arun Kumar Thakur (41), a resident of Koyilibeda in the charged area, is a contractor. He used to deliver ration, stationery and money to the Naxalites. In the urban network case, he has been playing the role of a mediator between the people arrested earlier and the Naxalites. Additional Superintendent of Police Kirtan Rathore said that on the basis of interrogation of the accused arrested earlier, the police reached Arun.

Arun makes road construction work in susceptible areas. Kanker police had earlier arrested contractor Tapas Palit of Rajnandgaon district in Sikasod police station area on March 24, from whose vehicle seized shoes, cloth, walkie-talkie sets, meter tape and other items. Dayashankar Mishra, a resident of Rajnandgaon, who was connected to the urban network of Naxalites, was arrested on the basis of questioning from Tapas.

On April 24, Rajnandgaon resident contractor Ajay Jain and Komal Prasad Verma, their employees Koyilbeda resident Rohit Nag, asphalt plant manager Meerut (Uttar Pradesh) resident Sushil Sharma, Balaghat (Madhya Pradesh) resident Suresh Sharanagat were arrested.
