Now the central government is taking steps towards forming a commercial force. Under which the Central Industrial Security Force ie 'CISF' is going to benefit. A special proposal has been prepared for this. 1.2 lakh recruitments will be made on the basis of a contract for the first time in CISF. The current strength of the force will be increased from 1.80 lakh to three lakh.

Under the new restructuring policy (CST), a 3: 2 formula will now be applicable in CISF. That is, there will be three permanent service personnel and two contract soldiers in the force. The appointment will be for five years on a contract basis. In this, retired personnel of army and paramilitary forces will be given a chance.

According to the media report, the Special DG, ADG and Sector IG of the force have been informed by the CISF headquarters on November 18 about the said decisions of the Union Home Ministry. It also says that the officers of the force should go to private companies or factories in the private sector to find out whether the CISF can be deployed there.
