In an attack which happened at the Kabul’s largest shrine as Shia Muslims gathered and observed the Ashura Holy Day.
This holy day commemorates the 7th century death of a grandson of Prophet Mohammed. The attack was done by a man dressed like a policeman, who opened fire at the worshippers and killed 14 of them.
The number contained 13 civilians and one policeman and about 36 people were wounded, said Ministry of Interior spokesman Sediq Sediqqi.
Ministry of Public Health officials said at least 43 people had been injured in the incident and had been taken to hospitals in the city for treatment.
The attacker was killed by the forces and his body was kicked by the masses.
