141 people to receive Padma Awards today, President gives Padma Vibhushan to Pandit Channulal

New Delhi: President Ram Nath Kovind is conferring the Padma Award on 119 people at Rashtrapati Bhavan today. Padma Awards, the highest civilian honour after Bharat Ratna in the country, are being distributed at the historic Durbar Hall of Rashtrapati Bhavan. This grand ceremony is being felicitated by people who have done outstanding work in various fields. This time two years of awards are being given. It will confer padma awards on 141 people today for the year 2020 and 119 for 2021 on Tuesday. The President has currently conferred the Padma Vibhushan on Pandit Channulal Mishra of Uttar Pradesh.

7 people will be honoured with the largest Padma Vibhushan award in the list of Padma Awards for the year 2021. With this, 10 people will be awarded padma bhushan and 102 people from Padma Shri will be awarded. On the other hand, padma vibhushan will be awarded on 7th, Padma Bhushan on 16th and Padma Shri on 118th Logan for the year 2020. The awardees include 29 women, 16 posthumous award winners and 1 transgender award winner.

Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and PM Narendra Modi have also arrived at Rashtrapati Bhavan to attend the Padma Awards ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan and home minister Amit Shah is also present with him.
