In a shocking development, 15 out of 31 Pakistan players present at Pakistan Cricket Board’s boot camp at the Kakul Military Academy failed their fitness tests. This is a preparatory camp for Pakistan players ahead of their all-important tour to England in July.

According to details from an official, four players Fawad Alam, opener Shaan Masood , test captain Misbah-ul-Haq and senior batsman Younis Khan have come out outstandingly in the fitness drills carried out during the camp.

A Pakistan cricket board official said "As many as 31 players are attending the camp and mostly a dozen of them have been unable to meet the criteria of the fitness tests and have been unsuccessful to pass it. The selectors and the board are very curious about the fitness tests and top priority will be given to those players who will be totally in shape. "

He said Pakistan’s disastrous show in the Asia Cup and World Twenty20 was a result of players’ being unable to meet the fitness levels which was also pointed by former coach Waqar Younis and team manager Intikhab Alam.
