Bird flu continues to wreak havoc in Maharashtra, 18700 birds died

Mumbai: The bird flu in Maharashtra is wreaking havoc. This week, 289 more birds have died from different parts of Maharashtra. The figure of bird deaths in the state has reached 18700. Of the 289 dead birds, 260 were chickens, while the rest included other birds such as herons, parrots and crows.

Samples of dead birds have been sent by state authorities to Bhopal laboratory for testing to ascertain whether the birds have died of bird flu. Earlier, several cases of bird flu were confirmed in Maharashtra and so far 51000 poultry birds, more than 38,000 eggs and about 55000 poultry feeds have been destroyed in various areas.

The act of catching birds in the infected area is being done. The birds are also being hit in poultry farms to prevent the spread of bird flu. In this process, birds are killed and then buried and the entire area of the field is sanitized. However, the case of bird flu in humans has not yet been reported.
