In Andhra Pradesh, the death toll in the last twenty-four hours till Thursday is four in Krishna, three in Chittoor, two each in Prakasam and West Godavari and one each in Nellore, Srikakulam, Visakhapatnam districts. Thus 14 new deaths were recorded. And the death toll has increased to 13,964. The total number was reported to be 20,26,042 with 1439 new coronavirus cases reported across the state. On the other hand, 1311 new patients were cured on Thursday, taking the total number of recoveries to 19,97,452 and there are currently 14,624 active cases. As per district-wise data, Chittoor recorded 261 new infections, followed by Nellore with 260, East Godavari at 170 while Vizianagaram district did not report 8 cases. Andhra Pradesh conducted 62,856 Covid-19 tests in the last twenty-four hours, taking the total to around 2.71 crore tests across the state.

Coronavirus Cases in India In the last 24 hours, India recorded 43,263 new COVID-19 infections. This is a jump of over 14 per cent in terms of day-to-day comparisons. On Wednesday, the country had registered 37,875 cases. There was a slight decline in Kovid deaths. As against yesterday's 369, Thursday saw 338 corona deaths. The national recovery rate is in line with 97.48 percent. It is to be noted that out of the total 43,263 cases, 30,196 people were tested positive for the viral infection in Kerala alone. There were 181 deaths in the state.

Health experts are concerned about the steady rise in new Covid cases in the city. If we look at the daily caseload, Mumbai crossed the 500-mark on Wednesday with 532 coronavirus infections. This is the first time since July 15 that more than 500 cases have been reported in a day in the city. There has also been a slight increase in the test positivity rate in Maharashtra.
