Odisha: 3 people killed as car fell off a bridge in Balasore

Bhubaneswar: Three people were killed and two others injured when a car fell off a bridge on National Highway-16 near Balasore in O Disha on Saturday morning. Police said that 5 persons in the train were on their way to Bhubaneswar from Baripada in nearby Mayurbhanj district when the driver lost control of the vehicle at around 3 am and the car fell off the bridge.

Balasore Industrial Police rushed to the spot and sent all five people to Balasore Headquarters Hospital where doctors declared three of them dead. He said the deceased have been identified as Ravindra Sahu, Santosh Panda and Debashish Panda of Kaumara area. A case has been registered at industrial area police station near Balasore in this regard.

A few days ago, union minister Pratap Chandra Sarangi was slightly injured in a road accident in Balasore itself. His car collided with a tractor last Sunday. The senior official had informed that the minister's assistant and car driver were also injured in the accident. The incident took place on Nilgiri-Kaptipada Road in Podasul area when the minister was on his way to Badhiyepala village in balasore, his Lok Sabha constituency.
