Actually, this incident happened in Lavanga village of Jat tehsil when four sadhus living in Uttar Pradesh were going from Bijapur in Karnataka to Pandharpur city in a car. In this case, a police officer said that 'These people had stayed at a temple in the village on Monday and while starting the journey on Tuesday, they asked a boy the way, due to which some local people suspected that they were kidnapping children. They are part of a criminal gang.'
With this, the officer said, 'During this, there was an altercation between the two sides, which escalated on sight and the local people allegedly beat up the sadhus with sticks.' At the same time, the official said that 'A police team reached the spot and found that the sadhu is a member of an akhara in Uttar Pradesh'. However, after the news of the mob attack on the sadhus surfaced, Sangli SP Dixit Gedam said that 'we have neither received any complaint nor any formal report has been lodged so far.'
