Mumbai: In the Thane district of Maharashtra, 463 new cases of coronavirus infection have been registered in the last 24 hours, after which the total number of infected people has increased to 2,61,667. According to information received given by the officer that three more patients died of corona on Tuesday, with the number of dead reached 6,246.

The official said that the death rate of corona in the district has come down to 2.39 percent. So far, 2,50,748 patients have been recovered and currently, 4,673 patients are undergoing treatment. Another official said that the total number of infected people in Palghar has reached 45,776 and 1,202 patients have died due to the epidemic. On the one hand, while active cases of corona in India remain below 1.50 lakh, on the other hand, many states after Maharashtra have increased the tension by giving notice of sudden increase from the beginning of this month.

According to data from the Union Health Ministry, more than 100 average new cases are reported every day in 12 states including Maharashtra, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Punjab, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Telangana, Delhi, and Haryana. Out of them, Kerala and Maharashtra both have been witnessing more than 4,000 new daily cases in the last week. Maharashtra still tops the new corona cases and on Tuesday, 6218 new cases were reported.
