52 new cases of coronavirus reported in Andaman and Nicobar Island

Port Blair: On Monday, officials said that more than 50 people have tested positive for Corona in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. With these cases, there have been a total of 2,860 cases of corona infection in the Union Territory. Out of 52 new cases, 45 were detected at the time of local contact tracing and 7 were found on the plane floor. In the last twenty-four hours, at least 110 people have been cured of corona infection, taking the total figure of those recovering to 1,963.

Officers further said that out of a total of 2,860 corona cases, 864 are active, 1,963 people have recovered from the disease and 33 have died. To intensify the fight against the Coronavirus, the Central Territory Administration has mandated rapid antigen tests for all passengers arriving from Man land at Port Blair Airport from 22 August.

The officials further said that passengers who test positive on the plane floor are immediately transferred to the Corona care facility and those who test negative are quarantined at home or institutional for 7 days. The total number of cases of corona infection in the country has exceeded 31 lakhs and the number of deaths has gone up to more than 57.5 thousand. According to the latest data released by the Ministry of Health, during the last 24 hours, 61 thousand 408 cases of corona have been reported and 836 people have died.
