Kasargod, In an incident, a car skidded off the road and hit a tree near Pallikkara in the district yesterday night in which six family members including a three-year-old girl, were killed and one injured.

Pallikkara SI V Jithesh said, that the dead have been identified as Fathima 3, Sanira 18, Ramsheeba 19, Hyrunnisha 22, Shakeena 45 and Sajeer 26. He added three of them were killed on the spot while two others died on the way to hospital and one yield to injuries at a private hospital in Mangaluru.

Treatment of other injured is undergoing at the hospital. 

According to the police, "Seven members of the family were on their way to attend an Iftar party when the mishap occurred around 7.30 pm near Pallikkara panchayat office after Sajeer lost control of the vehicle".

The slight rain was there at the time of accident, he added.
