Ayodhya: Two holy Shaligram stones from Pokhara in Nepal have reached Ramnagari Ayodhya. Seeing the stones, the faces of Ram devotees have also bloomed and flowers showered on the stones at various places. Before reaching Ayodhya, these stones reached the Gorakhnath temple late on Tuesday (January 31), where a large number of devotees, who were present in large numbers, burst crackers by showering flowers and welcoming them with slogans of Jai Shri Ram. After worship, these stones were sent to Ayodhya at around 4.45 am on Wednesday morning.

According to the report, these rocks are 60 million years old. Two large pieces of stones from 60 million-year-old special rocks found in the Gandaki river at a place near Shaligram or Muktinath (literally the "place of salvation") in Nepal's Mustang district were sent from Nepal last Wednesday (February 1). The weight of one rock in it is 26 tons, the other is 14 tons.

Prakash Gupta, office in-charge of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, had earlier informed that these Shaligram stones are 6 crore years old. The huge rocks will reach Ayodhya from Nepal on two separate trucks. The weight of one stone is 26 tons and the weight of the other is 14 tons. The statue of Lord Ram carved on this stone will be installed in the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram temple, which will be ready by Makar Sankranti in January next year.
