The Modi government of the Center is planning to give military training to 10 lakh youth every year to promote discipline and nationalism. Under the National Youth Empowerment Scheme i.e. N-YES, a plan to provide military training to these youth is under consideration to take advantage of Indian demographics.

Students enrolled in class 10 and class 12 will be included in this. Under this scheme, the government will give a stipend to these youth for a period of 12 months. Apart from this, this training will be made compulsory for those who are recruited in defence, paramilitary and police.

According to the Indian Express report, the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) convened a meeting to consider the proposed plan. It included representatives of the Defense Ministry, Department of Youth Affairs and Human Resources Ministry.

According to sources, during the meeting, some officials raised the issue of reservation under N-YES, then someone talked about expanding the National Cadet Corps (NCC) instead of this plan.

Through this scheme, nationalism, discipline and self-esteem will be promoted in the youth, which will help in making India a world leader and achieving PM Modi's New India 2022 vision. Modi is working on various plans regarding New India 2022 vision for which he has launched programs like Swachh Bharat Mission, Digital India etc.
