Former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Mary have been arrested in the case of corruption. Both reached Lahore on Friday night. Both were deported at the airport itself. They have been taken to Central Jail located in Rawalpindi. Nawaz Sharif will get many facilities in jail.
He has been kept in the Adiala jail. Adiala Jail is the Central Jail of Rawalpindi. There are limited facilities in this prison. The prison has books and newspapers, 21-inch television, a table and a chair, a mattress, personal bed and clothes and dining facilities. But the prisoners have to pay for it. Apart from this, there will not be an air conditioner or refrigerator in the jail. Under the law, the family can get this.
The government can not give them facilities beyond jail rules. But members of the Sharif family will be kept as high profile prisoners, where adequate security is to be ensured. At the same time, if former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif pleads, as a former MP he can be sent to a 'better class' category jail. However, his daughter Mariam Nawaz will get this facility only when she will prove that she has paid at least six lakh rupees annually as income tax. Significantly, Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Mariam returned home late on Friday night. Arriving at the Allama Iqbal Airport in Lahore, he has been arrested. Nawaz Sharif was arrested and sent to Central Jail.
