In Nepal, 55 people have died in floods and landslides due to heavy rains, while about one thousand people have been rescued. Relief and rescue work is in progress in the flood affected areas.

According to the authorities, "many settlements have been affected by the flood. Due to rising above the danger mark of rivers, flood situation has become in many areas. Home Ministry asked people to come to safe areas. According to the Nepal Electricity Authority, thousands of acres of land has been submerged with water and electricity supply in the eastern region has completely stalled and many highways have also been shut down. The government instructed to keep the security forces and government officials, relief, and rescue operation continues rapidly. Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba addressed the nation on Saturday evening and announced relief to the flood victims." 

600 tourists stranded in floods: Around six hundred tourists were stranded due to floods in the Saurah area of Chitwan district of Nepal. These include 200 Indians. Officials gave this information on Sunday. Suman Ghimire, president of the Saurahha Regional Hotel Association, said that water has flowed in many hotels.

The chief of the district and the Nepal Tourism Board have been asked to arrange for the removal of these stranded people by giving information about the situation.
