New Delhi [India], November 23 (NT): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday insisted on the country to take a firm action on preventing cyber space from transform into "a playground for the murky forces of terrorism and radicalization."

"We need to make sure that weak sections of our society do not be prey to the wickedness designs of cybercriminals. Awareness towards cyber-security apprehension should turn out to be a way of life. Nations must also take a liability to ensure that the digital space does not become a playground for the murky forces of terrorism and radicalization," PM said while speaking at the 5th Global Conference on 'Cyber Space' here.

The Prime Minister addressed that it was necessary for the global community to move toward the issue of cyber-security with confidence, as much as with resolve.

"Cyber-space technologies must remain an enabler for our people," he added.

Earlier, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad opined that digital diplomacy must become integral to strategic diplomacy.

The event, which is being organized for the first time in India, is themed 'Cyber for All: A Secure and Inclusive Cyberspace for Sustainable Development.'

Legislative body from around 124 countries and 33 Ministerial delegates from 31 countries, along with Prime Minister of Sri Lanka Ranil Wickremasinghe, attended the conference.
