With 4.2 million followers on his personal Twitter account, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is behind only US President Donald Trump (5.2 million) and Pope Francis (4.7 million), but he is the second most important global leader in terms of influence on the microblogging site. This information was given in a Global Study.
 
With more than 1.1 million followers, Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj is not only the world's most followed woman world leader, she is also the most followed foreign minister in the world. This information is given in the 2018 study of the Global Communications Agency BCW.
 
In this study, activities of 951 Twitter accounts were studied, in which the heads of Governments and Foreign Minister were included. This study was done through aggregate data of crowdtangel.com, which is a content discovery and social monitoring platform.
At Modi's where there are currently 4.34 million followers on Twitter. At the same time, Trump has 5.34 million and Swaraj has 1.18 million followers. Trump had become the world's most followed world leader in October 2017, leaving Pope Francis behind. There are Twitter accounts in 9 languages, of which there are a total of 4.7 million followers.  
 
The number of followers has doubled since Trump took charge on January 20, 2017. It was reported in the study that on an average, there were 267 million interactions (songs and rehearsed) on the US President's tweet over the last 12 months. This is 5 times more than Modi's tweets, of which 5.2 million interactions took place, while Pope Francis's tweet recorded 2.2 million interactions.
