Mumbai: In spite of gangster Dawood Ibrahim being termed a global terrorist, the officials are facing legal obstacles in taking possession of his property in the city.

A senior police officer said, “There was a proposal to seize Ibrahim’s properties in an organized manner by the authorities. But, there are some legal hurdles,”

Some properties of Dawood, from where he started monitor crime, are stuck in legal disputes. Some other properties have been auctioned by the administration.

The official has said that the properties which have been auctioned, have not been able to pay the money because of the lack of funds. This comment has come into the news this week by the British administration seizing Dawood's property in the UK. Indian officials are engaged in talks with the British counterpart in this regard.

The Government of India's step is to bring Dawood back to the country. It is said that the 61-year-old underworld don is the main accused in the 1993 Mumbai blasts.
