Kidambi Srikanth, who recently won the French Open super series has been rewarded by the Andhra Pradesh state cabinet with an amount of Rs 2 crore and about 1,000 square yards of land in Amaravati. Besides this, they also announced a deputy collector's job in the state government to the ace shuttler. Kidambi Srikanth became the first Indian to win four Superseries titles in a calendar year with his win at French Open earlier this week.

The two coaches of Srikanth, including Pullela Gopichand have been awarded a cash reward of Rs 30 lakh.registered another record to his name. Srikanth created history as he became the first Indian player in the badminton to win four Superseries titles in a year after he won the men's individual title at the French Open on Sunday.

He defeated Japan's Kenta Nishimoto 21-14, 21-13 in the final to achieve this feat. Last night win helped the eighth germ Indian to improve his head-to-head statistics against the unseeded Japanese to 2-0. Srikanth struggled in the early stages of the first game with the Japanese taking a 9-5 lead. The Indian Badminton star made a strong comeback to force the lead at 11-9 which was behind of him around four points. The Srikant did not look back from there, going on to win the opening game.
