Ambikapur: On Ambikapur-Sitapur National Highway in Chhattisgarh, near village Lalmati, a bus full of processions overturned uncontrollably. Two persons including a child aboard lost their lives. At the same time, more than 30 people are injured. All the persons injured in the accident have been admitted to the hospital in Ambikapur. The speed of the vehicle on the under-construction road is said to be the cause of the accident. Surguja Additional Superintendent of Police Vivek Shukla said that the procession had come from village Sikilma in Batauli area to village Baradmali.
From here all the processions were returning back to their village Sikilma at around 11 pm. The driver suddenly lost control on the road under construction near village Lalmati and the speeding bus overturned on the middle road. After the accident, there was an atmosphere of panic on the spot. As soon as the Tahrir was received, the team of Police and Health Department also reached the spot. But by then two persons including a child had died in this accident. More than 30 injured persons were immediately rushed to Medill College Ambikapur by ambulance and police vehicles. Doctors told that the condition of two persons is very serious. At present, all the injured persons are being treated.
According to the same Additional SP Ambikapur Vivek Shukla, the accidental bus belonged to a private school in Raghunathpur, which was hired for the procession. The family members of the injured persons said that the driver was drunk. And drunk he was driving the bus at high speed. He was also singing the song, leaving the staring in between. People even refused him to do so, but he did not agree. He said that the accident happened due to the negligence of the driver.
