ED summons Nawab Malik's son in PMLA case involving Dawood Ibrahim

MUMBAI: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned Faraz Malik, son of NCP leader and Maharashtra Minister Nawab Malik, who is already in police custody, in the PMLA case involving underworld Don Dawood Ibrahim and an anonymous Mumbai-based politician.

The ED wants him to face his father, Nawab Malik, and a few documents and other evidence gathered by them. The ED detained Nawab Malik on February 23, and he was later remanded in custody till March 3.

According to ED sources, they have created a money trail that connects Nawab Malik to underworld figures. According to ED sources, they have discovered data about Nawab Malik's benami assets in a few real estate projects. On February 18, the ED detained Dawood's brother, Iqbal Kaskar, in the case. Salim Qureshi, Chhota Shakeel's helper, was also questioned in the case. 

Dawood was charged under the PMLA by the ED. Iqbal Kaskar, Iqbal Mirchi, and 19 others were charged in a separate case. The ED eventually combined the two cases.
