On Monday, another brutal murder was reported in Assam, this time in Gohpur, where a father was beaten to death by his son. According to the police, the deceased was Biren Gunju, a man in his late 50s. On Monday morning, he and his son Rinku Gunju had a fight over some family matters.

The dispute eventually escalated into a brawl between them. Rinku had punched his father in the face, inflicting serious injuries on Biren as a result of his anger. His father was taken to the hospital by the police, but the doctors declared him dead.

Rinku was arrested by the police and an investigation was launched. The reason for the murder has yet to be established. A similar occurrence occurred on February 22 in Barpeta's Kalgachia, when a father was killed by his son over a bidi dispute (A type of thin cigarette).

The police informed that the incident took place early in the morning and the entire issue took place because of a bidi. Lal Miyan, who was stabbed to death by his son, Samsul Haque, was identified as the victim.They lived in Kalgachia's Alipur area.
