New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which is gearing up for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi elections, has started the exercise of selecting candidates. The AAP is going to conduct a survey on the victory of the ticket contenders. Only then will the candidates be fielded. AAP Delhi President Gopal Rai said that the party has sought the list of ticket contenders from local organisations and MLAs.
In a press conference held at the party headquarters on Wednesday, Gopal Rai said, "From February 25, we are starting the booth dialogue. For this, the party has formed a team of 20-20 people at more than 13 thousand booths. We had started the party's membership drive on December 5 for the corporation elections. During this time, 20 lakh new members have joined the party.'' He said that in the booth dialogue, all the new and old members will be called and discussed about the change and rid of the corrupt rule of the BJP in the municipal corporation.
Gopal Rai further said that through this, the booth victory campaign will be completed. MCD in-charge Durgesh Pathak said that in Delhi, every road, every street, every avenue, there are heaps of garbage, for which only the BJP-ruled municipal corporations are responsible. Durgesh said that 99 per cent of the people of Delhi want a change in the municipal corporation, people want the AAP government in the municipal corporation also.
