New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has revealed its roster of star campaigners for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections in the state of Gujarat. Leading the pack are Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his spouse, Sunita Kejriwal. Joining them are other influential personalities including Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, along with Manish Sisodia, Satyendar Jain, and Raghav Chadha, among others.
In Gujarat, AAP is vying for two of the state's 26 Lok Sabha seats, specifically in Bharuch and Bhavnagar, as part of the INDIA bloc. Chaitar Vasava is the designated candidate for Bharuch, while Umesh Makwana is set to represent AAP in Bhavnagar.
The announcement comes amidst ongoing legal proceedings involving Arvind Kejriwal, who was apprehended by the Enforcement Directorate on March 21 in connection with an excise policy case. Currently in judicial custody until April 23, Kejriwal's involvement in the election campaign underscores AAP's commitment to the electoral battle in Gujarat.
Gujarat's Lok Sabha elections are slated to be held in a single phase on May 7, with candidates required to file their nomination papers by April 19. As the political landscape heats up in the state, AAP's selection of star campaigners signals its intent to make significant inroads in Gujarat's political arena.
