New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Amanatullah Khan, who was arrested in connection with the 'Delhi Waqf Board' rigging case, has been sent to 4-day police remand by Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court. Earlier, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) raided several locations of the AAP MLA's associates, including his residence, on Friday (September 16, 2022). In which, 24 lakh rupees including illegal weapons were recovered.

After arresting Amanatullah on Friday night, he was produced in the court of Special Judge Vikas Dhull on Saturday (September 17, 2022). In this hearing, the ACB said that Amanatullah Khan had appointed his friends, relatives and close relatives as employees in the Delhi Waqf Board giving an undue advantage. The ACB also told the court that Amanatullah will have to be taken to different parts of the country, including Telangana, Bihar, Uttarakhand and Gujarat, for further investigation. During this time, the transaction of money for the appointment in the Delhi Waqf Board will be investigated. For this, Amanatullah needs to be taken on remand.

The ACB had sought 14-day police remand of Amanatullah Khan. However, the court has given police remand of 4 days only. It is being told that if the police get some special information from Amanatullah in this remand, then this remand period can be extended. Some videos of this have also surfaced, in which it can be seen that the mob is attacking the officials of the police and investigating agencies who went to arrest Amanatullah Khan. At the same time, Amanatullah Khan has already been declared a BAD character by the Delhi Police, he has many cases registered against him and many times there are allegations of obstructing government work.
