AAP Gears Up for Strategy Meeting Following Kejriwal's Arrest -The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) announced on Thursday that it would convene a meeting of all its MLAs in the evening. The meeting is scheduled to take place at the Chief Minister's residence in Civil Lines, Delhi.
The party will gather its leaders, MLAs, and councillors later today to chart its future course of action following the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Rajya Sabha MP Sandeep Pathak is expected to preside over the meeting. This meeting holds significant importance as it marks the first major gathering after the party supremo's arrest, and it will focus on discussing the party’s strategy going forward.
Mr. Kejriwal was apprehended by the Enforcement Directorate on Thursday from his official residence in connection with a money laundering case linked to an excise policy. On Friday, a court remanded the AAP national convenor to the central agency’s custody until March 28.
This meeting also comes in the wake of the recent electoral defeat of the AAP-Congress alliance in the national capital. Before surrendering on Sunday after his bail expired, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is facing charges in the excise scam, had conducted a meeting of the Parliamentary Affairs Committee and allocated responsibilities to the MLAs.
This gathering marks the first major assembly since the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal by the Enforcement Directorate on Thursday in connection with an excise policy-linked money laundering case. Kejriwal has been remanded to the agency’s custody until March 28. The meeting is likely to discuss the party’s future strategy following these developments. However, the specific agenda has not been disclosed.
