On Monday, anti-corruption bureau (ACB) officials searched the grocery store owner Nanda Gopal's residence in Bollarum. The bank opened an illegal account as former Keesara Tahsildar Erva Balaraju Nagaraj opened a joint account on his name.

Preliminary investigation reveals that the account has been opened in the name of Gopal and his brother, who now live in the US. As Gopal's brother Nagaraj is a friend, the joint account is opened and the locker is also saved. During the search operation, ACB officials inquired about the account and the locker with Gopal. However, Gopal says that Nagaraj used his and his brother's names only to open an account. On August 14, when ACB officials conducted surprise checks at the guest house in Kapra, Gopal's car was also found at Nagaraj's house in Alwal.

During the searches, Two realtors C Srinath Yadav, K Anji Reddy and Village Revenue Assistant Bongu Sairaj were seized along with rs 1.10 crore cash and some documents. Nagaraj was hanged in jail last week.
