NEW DELHI: Following the Congress' poor showing in five state Assembly elections, Rahul Gandhi stated on Thursday that he accepted the people's verdict and thanked the winning parties.

For their hard work and devotion, I thank all members of Congress and volunteers. We shall take this as a lesson and continue to work in India's best interests."
