MYSURU: Acclaimed Tamil actor and producer Vishal on Saturday, September 10, paid a visit to the Shaktidhama orphanage run by late Kannada superstar Puneeth Rajkumar's family in Mysuru city of Karnataka.

The actor also held talks with the staff and management of the orphanage centre. He also added that he spoke to the orphanage children.

Superstar Puneeth directed Shaktidhama, which cares for 1,500 orphaned youngsters. But he kept his charitable endeavour a secret, and only after his tragic death did it come to light.

Vishal had declared that he would take over Shaktidhama and care for the orphaned kids when Puneeth passed away. Puneeth's family insisted that they would still look after the orphanage centre, though.

After the visit, Vishal pledged to continue serving as a volunteer for the Shaktidhama and asked Puneeth's family for their permission. "Shaktidhama provided a setting akin to a temple. We were able to see God in the temple. I observed God in each child here" he added.

"Here, children are joyful and playful. Puneeth and Geethamma, the spouse of Puneeth's older brother Shiva Rajkumar, did a fantastic job. In my conversation with Shiva Rajkumar. I communicate with Puneeth Rajkumar's family often" he said.

"They dance, play and are in a spirited mood, I wish they have a bright future," he said.

"I was unable to visit Shaktidhama as I had to get admitted to the hospital after being injured during a shoot. I took a call to visit Shaktidhama at any cost and I am here with a spirit of seeing the children. I am happy that I met them and always want to be a volunteer here," the Tamil actor added.
