Actress Emily Blunt in talks to join Nolan's 'Oppenheimer'

Emily Blunt is reportedly in discussions to join Christopher Nolan's forthcoming feature 'Oppenheimer'.  Emily is in discussions to star with Cillian Murphy in the Universal tentpole that Nolan will write and direct, according to sources.

According to sources, she will play J. Robert Oppenheimer (Murphy), the physicist who oversaw the Manhattan Project, which resulted in the development of the atomic weapon. The film will be released on July 21, 2023, a date that has always been marked for Christopher Nolan films.

Along with Emma Thomas and Atlas Entertainment's Charles Roven, Nolan will produce. The film is based on Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin's Pulitzer Prize-winning book "American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer."

This year, Emily had two films reach the $100 million mark in the United States, a milestone no major actor or actress has achieved since the box office reset.
In 'A Quiet Place Part II,' she resumed her main role, grossing $160 million domestically and almost $300 million globally.

She followed it up with Jungle Cruise,' in which she co-starred with Dwayne Johnson and grossed $114 million domestically.
