Tanuja and Sharmila Tagore, two seasoned actors, will debut on Indian Idol 13. A new advertisement claims that the actors took part in the "leading ladies’ special episode" of the singing reality show. Sharmila recreates one of her most recognisable screen appearances from the 1969 movie Aradhana in the video. The actor performed the scene with contestant Rishi Singh and host Aditya Narayan on stage as Rishi Singh sang the film's popular song, Mere Sapno Ki Rani.

In addition to Sharmila, Rajesh Khanna and Sujit Kumar also appear in the well-known song Mere Sapno Ki Rani from Aradhana. Famously, the toy train in Darjeeling was used to film the song as Rajesh and Sujit's characters followed it in a jeep.

The Indian Idol judges, Neha Kakkar, Vishal Dadlani, and Himesh Reshammiya, greeted Sharmila Tagore and Tanuja in the video. The song's famous scene with Sharmila and Aditya Narayan was then re-enacted by Rishi Singh as he sang Mere Sapno Ki Rani. While Rishi and Aditya filled in for Rajesh Khanna and Sujit, the veteran actor used the same book that she did in the movie—When Eight Bells Toll by Alistair MacLean—as she posed in a mock train carriage.

One viewer's response to the video was "Two evergreen beauty from Bengal," another wrote. Wow..so good, another fan said (heart emoji). "You rock Rishi," another admirer wrote. Sharmila continued to look as stunning as she did in the original song, according to many fans. She still looks as lovely and graceful as she did in the movie, which was made more than 50 years ago.

Aditya Narayan is the host of the singing competition show Indian Idol, which is currently judged by Neha Kakkar, Vishal Dadlani, and Himesh Reshammiya. Every Saturday and Sunday at 8 p.m., the programme, which is currently in its thirteenth season, airs on Sony entertainment television.
