New Delhi: During the hearing on the petitions filed in the Supreme Court against the university's final year examination till September. Sindhvi said that every day the number of cases of corona is increasing. He said that in this period of the epidemic, most of the students have returned to their respective homes and many students use public transport. In such a situation, the movement of students is an issue.

Singhvi further said that examinations are conducted only after studying in class, but due to corona, studies have been interrupted for the last 5 months, then how will the exam be conducted? Sindhvi said that the corona epidemic is a global problem, it is an extraordinary situation. All sectors have been affected by the epidemic and most are still closed. No one is against regular examination, but we are against examination in the midst of an epidemic. Sindhvi further said that UGC cannot conduct any examination amid such difficult situation.

On the other hand, advocate Shyam Dewan said that it is not appropriate for the UGC to declare the date of September 30 for the exam. The Union Home Ministry said in the affidavit filed in the apex court that on the request of the Ministry of Education, educational institutions have been allowed to open for the final semester examination. As per UGC instructions, the exemption is being given in the 'Unlock 3' guideline for conducting the exam.
