New Delhi: Passengers travelling to the UK from India with corona vaccine Covishield will no longer have to undergo quarantine. Britain, which is on the backfoot after the government of India's tough stand, has made a big announcement in this regard. Britain's Boris Johnson government has said that Indian passengers who have been administered any other vaccine approved in the Covishield or UK from October 11 will not be quarantined.

In early October, India had also issued an order to British citizens to be compulsory warranties by introducing a tit-for-tat rule. In a tweet, British High Commissioner to India Alex Ellis said that Indian passengers will not be quarantined for the full dose of the Covishield vaccine or any other vaccine approved by the UK government. The order will be applicable to Indian passengers travelling to the United Kingdom from October 11.

Britain had recognised the Covishield in September following a stern warning from India, but it had stuck a screw. While India was still on the UK's amber list, Indian nationals going to the UK had to remain quarantined even after getting vaccinated. The Government of India had expressed public displeasure several times over Britain's attitude.
