Dehradun: CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has declared a state holiday on November 14, 2017. He also shared the message of the Igas holiday on social media. Rajya Sabha MP and BJP National Media In-charge MP Anil Baluni has expressed gratitude to CM Dhami for declaring it a holiday on Igas.

Anil Baluni has been campaigning for the past few years to visit villages to celebrate Igas (Budhi Diwali). He wrote on social media, "Friends, I am going to go to my village on Igas (Budhi Diwali) and celebrate. You are the most appealing to go to your village and celebrate Igas. Union Minister of State for Defence Ajay Bhatt said, "I heartily congratulate the Government on the announcement of the public holiday on Igas.

He further said, "Thank you CM Pushkar Singh Dhami for taking this big decision. He said that we celebrate Budhi Diwali, but the new generation was forgetting now. Today, we have the opportunity to connect with culture again. I myself will stay in some part of Uttarakhand and celebrate Budhi Diwali with fanfare. CM Igas (Budhi Diwali) has declared a public holiday on the festival. That day is Sunday. However, the Igas festival will be celebrated till 1 pm on Monday. The CM Secretariat has directed the general administration department to issue leave orders.
