Lucknow: The Congress, which is trying to establish itself as an alternative to the main opposition and the BJP in the country, is facing an existential crisis in Uttar Pradesh. The country's oldest party, the Congress, is holding two seats in the assembly of Upazila, the country's largest state in terms of population. Now, congress' representation in the Uttar Pradesh assembly is on the verge of reaching zero seats.

In fact, the congress, which was reduced to two seats in the UP assembly elections, is now going to reach zero in the upper house of the state, i.e. the legislative council. This will be the first time in the history of the UP Legislative Council that no representative of Congress will be in the House. The term of Deepak Singh, the lone member of the Congress in the Legislative Council, is ending on July 6. The upper house of UP will become Congress-free after Deepak Singh steps down as a member of the Legislative Council. That is, after this, there will be no Leader of the Congress in the UP Legislative Council. In the UP Legislative Council, Congress is not suddenly reaching zero, but the reason behind it is the continuous weakening of the party in UP.

Congress was completely dominant in UP till the year 1989. However, in 1977 and 1989, the post of leader of the Legislative Council was held by the BJP. Talking about the journey of the Congress from the sky to the floor, in the last 33 years, the Congress party has been so narrowed that on July 6, its representation will reach zero. This will be the first time in history that there will be no Congress representative in the legislative council of UP.
