Ranchi: After Haryana, a woman sub-inspector was now crushed to death by a pick-up van in the Ranchi district of Jharkhand due to vehicle checking. The collision was so dangerous that Sub-inspector Sandhya Topno died on the spot. At the same time, the driver of the vehicle escaped after committing the crime. The police are now on the lookout for the culprit.

The same incident took place in the Tupudana area of the Ranchi district. At 3 am on Wednesday, 2018 batch police sub-inspector Sandhya Topno was checking the vehicles. Due to this, the police officer had signalled to stop a pickup van. But the driver increased the speed of the vehicle and trampled the woman. In this case, the woman police officer died on the spot. At the same time, the driver of the criminal pickup van managed to escape with the vehicle.  

After receiving the news of the incident, several policemen including the SHO rushed to the spot and took possession of the SI's body. Police are now on the lookout for the driver, and are scanning CCTV footage from nearby areas. Through CCTV footage, the police are claiming to have nabbed the pick-up van driver soon. It may be noted that even before this, in Dhanbad in Jharkhand, auto drivers hit and killed a judge.
