New Delhi: The dispute over Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Shri Ram, went on for years. In 2019, the ongoing legal battle in the Supreme Court on this issue came to an end, but now a dispute has started regarding the birthplace of Hanuman, the supreme devotee of Shri Ram. By the way, this dispute has not started between two religions but between religious institutions of two states. Actually Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka have claimed the birth of Hanuman ji at different places. Andhra Pradesh-based Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) is going to organize an event on Wednesday at the Anjanadri temple, where the ceremonial consecration took place on Rama Navami in April last year as the birthplace of Hanuman. But the Shri Hanuman Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra of Karnataka does not agree with this.

This trust claims that in Valmiki Ramayana it has been specifically told that Hanuman ji was born in Anjanahalli in Kishkindha. It is believed that this place is situated on the banks of Tungabhadra river near Hampi. At the same time, TTD says that ancient texts like Puranas and inscriptions clearly mention Anjanadri as the birthplace of Hanuman, which is now called Tirumala. In April, TTD also published a book outlining Anjanadri's claim, which was based on a report submitted by an 8-member panel set up in December 2020, but the Karnataka-based Teerth Kshetra Trust in a six-page letter to TTD This claim was opposed.

TTD has made this claim on the basis of mythological, literary, archaeological and geographical evidence accepted by many Vedic and religious scholars. TTD CEO Jawahar Reddy told the media that there is concrete evidence in this regard in the Ramcharitra Manas composed by Goswami Tulsidas ji Maharaj. At the same time, talks were held in May last year to resolve this dispute regarding the birth place of Ram devotee Hanuman, but both the states could not reach any conclusion.
