Curfew in 10 areas of Jodhpur after violence on Eid, CM Gehlot calls big meeting

Jaipur: Curfew has been imposed in several areas in Rajasthan's Jodhpur till tomorrow. The decision has been taken in view of the tension following the violence on the occasion of Eid. It has been reported that a curfew has been imposed in a total of 10 police station areas. At the same time, CM Ashok Gehlot has called a meeting on the matter. Meanwhile, the Union Home Ministry has sought a report on the incident.  

As per the order issued by Deputy Commissioner of Police Raj Kumar Chaudhary, a curfew has been imposed in the police station area of Jodhpur Commissionerate's district east, Udaymandir, Sadar Kotwali, Sadar Bazar, Nagori Gate, Khanda Falsa. Besides, an order has also been issued to impose a curfew in Pratapnagar, Pratapnagar Sadar, Devnagar, Sursagar and Sardarpura in police station areas of District West. The order clearly states that curfew will remain in force in these areas from 1 pm today to 12 midnight tomorrow.  

As per the order, no person will be able to step out of his home limit without a letter of permission. It has also been said that the curfew period may also be extended in view of the situation. Earlier, CM Ashok Gehlot had reacted to the incident and termed it as unfortunate. He also appealed to everyone to maintain peace.
