Lucknow: Former Congress National President Rahul Gandhi lost his traditional Amethi Lok Sabha seat in the 2019 general election. This is the first time rahul is scheduled to visit Amethi after nearly two and a half years of those elections. Rahul Gandhi and  Priyanka Gandhi will visit Amethi on December 18 as part of jan jagran abhiyan. Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will join a padyatra. This information was given in a press release issued by the Congress.

The Congress has launched protests across the country on issues like slowdown in economy and price rise. The party is also scheduled to organise a padyatra in Amethi. The campaign was launched by the Congress from November 14, the birth anniversary of the country's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. The Congress also had a big rally in Jaipur on Sunday itself. It was attended by party working presidents Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.

Hitting out at the BJP government at a rally in Rajasthan, Rahul Gandhi had said that prices of things like gas cylinders, ghee, pulses, flour and China have doubled since 2014. Rahul Gandhi, meanwhile, had asked the people, 'Good days have come?'. Then he himself replied, 'Good days have come - let us two, our two ones!'. He had hit out at the Modi government saying that everything is being snatched from the general public for select businessmen.
