Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court had recently issued an order. Following the same order, the state government spoke on Wednesday. During this, they said that it is illegal in the state to bring camels for any purpose, and a case will be filed against those who break the law.

Keeping in mind the upcoming Bakrid festival. An interim order has been issued on a public interest petition seeking a ban on killing camels. In its order, the court said that it is the responsibility of the state government to ensure that camels are not cut in the name of 'tradition'. Apart from this, a press release was also issued by the Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Department of the state. It was said that there is a strict prohibition on bringing camels from other states in Telangana and no person will kill camels in the state.

The Telangana government also mentioned the Rajasthan Camel Prohibition of Slaughter and Temporary Displacement or Export Regulation Act, 2015, which prohibits the bringing of camels from this state. However, different rules are being issued in many states regarding Bakrid. Recently, the Uttar Pradesh government has banned mass prayers and sacrificing in the open on the day of Bakrid.
