New Delhi: Wipro owner Azim Premji asked Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to speed up the country's corona vaccination program has requested to add private also. He said that the inclusion of the private sector can help the country to get 50 crore vaccinations against the coronavirus in just two months.

Premji further said, 'I think if the government connects the private industry quickly, we can be sure that we can give the vaccine to 50 crore people within 60 days.' He told the Finance Minister while attending an event organized by the Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce that it was a practicality. He said that if private participation is allowed, then the vaccination rate will get a big boost. Premji said that the vaccine records against corona have been developed in time and now this work has to be done in large proportion.

However, Azim Premji agreed that the government was doing well. He suggested that private participation would help improve vaccination rates. He said, 'There is a possibility that we can supply the vaccine to the serum institute for around Rs 300 per shot and hospitals, private nursing homes can give it for Rs 100 per shot. Therefore it is possible to collectively vaccinate the population with 400 rupees a shot.'
